After meeting at a rave party in Goa, Advait Thakur from India and Sara Nambiar from London run off together after the party becomes chaotic, causing the police to intervene. After sharing an intimate moment, they decide to embark on a journey away from their family and friends to live life unshackled like vagabonds (Malang). The scene then shifts to five years later, during a Christmas dinner party where honest cop Michael Rodrigues finds out that his wife Teresa Rodrigues (Amruta Khanvilkar) is having an affair with another man. He leaves the dinner party and gets a call from the office of a murder. Michael learns that the victim was Victor Himanshu Tandon who was a good friend and coworker of his, and he goes to investigate. He meets ACP Agashe, who disagrees with Michael since he wants to kill the murderer, while Michael wants to catch the murderer. Advait and Sara are shown in flashbacks happily living the life of vagabonds, along with the help of a friend Jessie, who had previously come to Goa before becoming a drug addict and sex worker to get money so she could buy drugs. Over time, Advait and Sara fall for each other and Sara finds our one day that she is pregnant with Advait's child, but she does not tell him. ACP Agashe is seen talking on the phone with his daughter Vani and he hangs up after finding out that she is at a rave party. ACP Agashe busts into the rave party and Vani is shot during the crossfire. Agashe is broken and turns into a drug addict a cop who has no mercy toward criminals. Sara, who was also at the same rave party, sees Vani getting shot and Agashe's outburst and tells Advait that she is pregnant and will not abort the baby. The next morning, Advait leaves Goa and continues his journey. At the end of the flashback, Jessie is helping Advait, and he goes on killing another cop Nitin Salgaonkar. and he claims his 3rd victim Deven Shivaji Jadhav (Prasad Jawade) in a football stadium. As the police were on the way to the stadium Michael see's Jessie and follows her, realizing that Michael is following her she tries to burn the evidence Michael see's that he is also one of the target. Advait later surrenders himself to the cop. In a parallel story, Michael was abused by his mother who used to beat him when his father hits his mother, after all the abused he started to feeling unease sexually. Michael is about to marry Teresa and is uncomfortable when she touches him. and later on he gets frustrated when his friends talk about having experience sexually would make him a man and no knowing so would makes him a less of a man and he goes to jessie's house as she is also known as a sex worker. Unknown to him, Sara has been living with Jessie after Advait Michael tries to forcefully rape Sara and in that moment Advait returned realizing his mistake and that he loves Sara, intervenes and knock out Michael and calls police. Michael's friends Nitin, Deven and Victor comes to investigate and take Sara and Advait in the police van to the station in that moment they both patch up, and Advait promises to never leave Sara and their child ever again. Michael waking up from his unconscious state and his friends in order to save Michael plots to frame both of them for drug peddling. However, Michael injects lethal dose of a Heavy drug to Sara in order to kill her and then throws her form the bridge. Advait is also injected the drug and sentenced to 5 years in jail. Still in shock that Sara died, he prepare's himself to seek revenge. In present day, Michael confesses his crimes to Advait and that he killed Jessie as he felt he was a man when he was killing her, instigate Advait into a fight with him and cunningly make's ACP Agashe plan his encounter. However, before going Micheal says something to make him realizes that he is the last target. ACP Agashe takes Advait to the same Bridge where it all started to kill him, and Advait tells him Micheal and his friends killed the only family he had. Michael goes to home and see's that his wife is about to leave him for Charlie the man she is having an Affair with. Michael goes all psychotic, plans to murder his wife and blame it on Charlie. When he is about to strangle Teresa to death, he is injected with something and when he see's behind him a person with the same red hoodie Adavit wore, the hoodie person is reveled to be Sara who survived the fall with the help of Jessie as she saw her being thrown off from the bridge. However, the baby didn't survive, Over the course of 5 years She has been planning the revenge and Advait has been preparing himself. The murders where committed by both Sara and Advait to seek their revenge. ACP Agashe releases Advait as there were no evidence against him. Sara and Advait found peace and started a new beginning together. Let me tell you first, I'm not a fan of Aditya or Disha, but then comes MALANG with high dose of love, adrenaline, action, drugs and beaches of Goa. Malang doesn't promote drugs or tourism of Goa instead deals with issues lying in our morally corrupt liberties and how choices we make end up taking us into unknown. Mohit Suri direction is good specially the introduction of Aditya in opening is lived her character to the fullest. Crackling chemistry is evident in both the lead characters. Anil Kapoor and Kunal khemu are exceptional. Music is top notch. Malang and Humraah are going to sway you from your seats.
